Welcome to Magnus Welander's C64 games page. Here are some (200+) games that I really enjoyed (and still enjoy) playing. Hope you'll find something you like here as well.
The games are divided into eight categories to make looking for your kind of game more
convenient. Click on your favorite category to search it for a game. All pages feature
screen shots, and are 50k-90k each.
Some games fit into more than one category - but I chose only one for each game. Look at these pages as a kind of "browsing" pages. If you're not sure exactly what you're after, you can browse through these pages to get a look of the game as well as a description.
However, if you do know the name of the game you're looking for, try The alphabetic file list. Warning: the filenames can be rather cryptic.
All games you can see on this page are located on this page. Thus you need not worry about broken links.
All games on this page have been tested and work with CCS64 V1.09 unless otherwise stated.
I've included information about all files on this page, including file size, format and
if the games need multiloading or have fastloaders.
As many games as possible are one-parted, and the format I chose is P00. If your emulator
cannot handle P00s (it should), get a converter like Star Commander or 64Copy. Games that multiload require
the D64 format. I also made all games that normally need saving, and can save to disk,
D64, even if they were single file. I didn't bother about games that save highscores
though.
Some games will have documentation attached to them. The source of this documentation is not specified - sometimes it will be mine, sometimes it will be a Project64 document, and sometimes something else. I hope the creators of these docs will not mind me having them on this page. If you do, please mail me. None of the docs are guaranteed to be correct or complete.
The first real update of this page includes 11 new games: Doomdark's Revenge, The
Fourth Sarcophagus, The Mutant Spiders, Subsunk (Adventure),
Congo Bongo, Pakacuda (Arcade), Miner 2049'er (Platform), Paratroopers (Shooting), Star League Baseball, Fight Night (Sports), Lemonade Stand (Miscellaneous).
Other updates include new and improved versions of The Fourth Protocol, Sorcery and
Defender of the Crown.
The Commodore Zone
- the best C64 site around. It's got all the latest emulators, lots of games (with
screenshots), a request zone for your special hard-to-find game, and lots of quality links
to other C64 sources.
Commodore Wire - an
excellent C64 resources page. Includes up-to-date news, great pointers to C64 game sites,
and much more.
Arnold - huge FTP
archive, most games, but other stuff too.
Martin Pugh's C64 game index
- searching through Arnold can be a pain, since filenames are cryptic. Martin supplies an
index with full game titles, and it covers several sites besides Arnold.
Commodore 64 Search
- a very good search engine for C64 Programs.
Commodore FTP Search -
search engine for several Commodore FTP sites.
Jez's C64 Page - quality page with lots of
rare games.
Electric Mayhem - good page with
request zone and hard to find games.
Dellos Domain - Paul Irvine's
page with the C64 emulation FAQ, including 170+ C64 game covers.
Lemon - Kim Lemon's page with lots
of downloadable games with pictures, game covers and more.
C64 Sports - Page dedicated to
sports games. Has (1999-07-11) over 600 games.
Greg and David's C64 page
- another page similar to mine. Doesn't seem to be updated very often, but is still good.
Project 64 game docs -
quality documents for C64 games. They've got other C64 docs as well.
Atari docs - an index
of Atari games manuals.
Spectrum docs
- an index of Spectrum games manuals.
