  Installation

Source installation
Make sure that you install Qt version 2, Mesa, IRIT and follow the instructions before you continue

Goto to the /usr/local directory and copy the tar ball here, then enter the command tar cvxz mlsrc-x.xx.tgz you should now have a subdirectory named MagcLight containing MagicLight. Change to this subdirectory and enter the command make, MagicLight will now be compiled for you.

Note: The included makefile may not work on your installation, in that case you can either edit the makefile so that it works or download tmake, this a tool that creates a makefile for you, just enter tmake -o Makefile magiclight.pro and you will get a new makefile for your system, at least if it is supported by tmake. Make sure that your moc binary for Qt is reachable through the path, if not, create a symbolic link to it.

Binary installation
Goto the /usr/local/bin directory and copy the tar ball here, then enter the command tar cvxz mlbin-x.xx.tgz you should now have a subdirectory named MagcLight containing MagicLight. Add the path to the MagicLight subdirectory to your path and you are done, make sure that you have installed shared libraries for Qt, Mesa and IRIT.

Documentation installation
The documentation for MagicLight is in html format, goto /usr/local/bin directory and copy the tar ball here, then enter the command tar cvxz mldoc-x.xx. The documentation will now be available in the /usr/local/bin/MagicLight/doc. Startup your browser with the magiclight.html file. No frames or stylesheets are used so it should work with all common browsers.

If you run into problems, please contact me or even better post a message to the mailing list.
